Shizuyo Horiuchi, 88, of Keaau, died Feb. 11 in a private care home. Born in Olaa, she was a sales clerk at the former Keaau Store and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory, and member of the Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Keaau Village Association. Private service. No flowers. No Koden. Survived by brothers-in-law, Seiko Fujiwara of Mililani and Shigeichi Hashimoto of Hilo; sister-in-law, Masae “Peggy” Horiuchi of Keaau; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Dora Kanani Lactaoen, aka Dora Kanani Lactaoen Keliikoa, 71, of Waimea, died Feb. 21, 2013 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a nurse’s aide on Oahu. Private Service. David Rosario, 73, of Hilo, died Feb. 14, at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Olaa, he was retired from the former Hilo Coast Sugar Plantation as a supervisor, and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,Hilo, Puna Indians and Umauma Softball Teams, the Hawaii Army Air National Guard and United States Army.
